2025 NYC Summer Camps (Gathering Reviews)

At White Bird Productions' Summer Theater Workshop, campers will create an original play, design sets and costumes, sing, learn, and play theater games. Each session culminates in a performance for family and friends.

The Mark Morris Dance Center holds summer dance camps for children of all ages, abilities and levels to dance and perform. Camps are divided by age, and include dance styles such as ballet, modern, tap, hip-hop, and jazz.

Sign your animal lover up for camp at the Prospect Park Zoo and enjoy a nature and animal filled summer at the zoo! Campers can help feed the animals, play games, create crafts, and learn about animals and their habitats.

Campers will take home fresh veggies, cook with produce from the garden, and learn about the creatures that live there, including worms, pollinators, and fungi.

The Center for Architecture's numerous Summer Programs allow kids to explore various architectural topics that appeal to their interests while enjoying design challenges, special site visits and art and building activities. Topics include treehouses, dream houses, skyscrapers, bridges, and more!

Whether your child wants to experience a new sport or further develop elite-level skills, Chelsea Piers offers a variety of camp options at its world-class facility. Choose from ice skating, gymnastics, golf, basketball, hockey, parkour, multi-sport camps, and more.

Former NBA and college basketball players help campers improve their basketball skills at Basketball City's co-ed summer camp. During camp, kids will learn proper warm-up and stretching techniques, practice and play basketball, listen to guest lectures, and end the day with cool-down sessions and yoga. Kids are encouraged to compete and achieve through contests and awards.

Kids can spend the summer on the Hudson River during City Sail Summer Camp. Working in small groups of no more than 5 kids per instructor, kids receive sailing instruction, play games in nearby parks, and enjoy trips up and down the river. No prior experience is necessary.

Hex & Co. is a board game cafe offering year-round kids' programming, including summer camp. During summer camp, kids can enjoy known and new board games while learning strategy. During the morning program, campers also investigate game mechanics and develop original games. In the afternoon, campers continue to explore game mechanics and can also choose from activities, including tournament play, role playing, or miniature wargaming.

Kids 'N Comedy's summer camp takes place at the Gotham Comedy Club and teaches kids improv, stand-up comedy and sketch comedy acting. At the end of each session, kids put on a live stage show at the club!

Taste Buds Kitchen offers several cooking camps where kids will enjoy games and contests while learning cooking skills. Campers will make a variety of savory and sweet recipes throughout the week. 

Encourage your child's passion for math with the Museum of Math's Transformations Summer Camp. MoMath's camp will engage campers with age-appropriate interactive learning, creative projects, and independent activities.

Choose from 4-week and week long theater camps for kids at Tada! Kids will create and perform a musical based on a chosen theme. For the 4-week programs, students will perform in a full Broadway Jr. production, while 1-week campers will debut their own original mini-musical on the last day of camp!

Fencers Club Summer Day Camp is a mix of academic programs and fencing practice. Learn and practice the dynamic sport of fencing in the morning and afternoon. In between fencing sessions, campers will engage in activities that inspire academic risk taking and creativity, such as creative writing, applied science, chess, logical puzzle solving and strategy games for kids.

Art projects will incorporate art history, current events, and tons of fun! Campers will also have choice time, snack, lunch, and fun outdoor activities in the private back yard.
