10 STEM Summer Camps Near NYC

iD Tech holds tech camps for kids across the country. Innovative courses for all interests, backgrounds, and skill levels are offered in design, coding, game development, robotics and more. iD Tech Camps blend instruction with fun camp activities such as tournaments, sports, board games, and campus excursions.

FasTracKids has extensive summer offerings covering numerous aspects of STEAM-centered learning. There's a Summer Preschool Program, Jr. Summer STE(A)M Academy, Summer STEAM Academy and Summer Academic Boot Camp. Kids will embark on enriching academic experiences in each session.

From woodworking to robot building to coding, kids will have a blast with experiential hands-on STEM projects at NORY. They also offer optional soccer and swim add-ons.

Camp Koko is specially designed for younger kids, and centers around self-directed play, material exploration and building projects.The Soapbox Workshop supports creativity and innovation, as older kids design and construct their own soap box car using recycled and found objects. Kids can race their creations in the Annual South Slope Derby!

Girls Rise Up is STEM From Dance’s three-week summer program designed for girls to explore the exciting world of STEM. Each day is jam-packed with dance to get participants moving and to supercharge their STEM skills. By the end of the program, participants will showcase what they’ve learned in a performance that merges dance and technology – all created by them and their fellow participants. Girls Rise Up is an opportunity for girls of all backgrounds to level up their confidence, unlock new STEM abilities, and connect with a supportive tribe of like-minded creatives and technologists.

Encourage your child's passion for math with the Museum of Math's Transformations Summer Camp. MoMath's camp will engage campers with age-appropriate interactive learning, creative projects, and independent activities.

The American Museum of Natural History introduces children to a variety of exciting science subjects. Topics may include space, geology, biology, paleontology, volcanoes, earthquakes, and more! Kids tour the museum exhibits and participate in projects and investigations!

This extremely popular and competitive science camp is located on the Teachers College, Columbia University campus in Morningside Heights. All lead teachers hold a master's degree from the Teacher's College. Campers learn physical, life, biological, and environmental sciences. Applications available in November.

National Computer Camps provides a a camp curriculum that consists of the following major areas: video game design, computer languages, web page design, 3D printing, software applications, QR programming, Android App programming, Arduino Computer Lab, fly your drone, and Minecraft Modding. Campers will participate in social activities and reside at a Fairfield University dorm. Virtual camp options also available.
