Do your kids get involved in holiday gift shopping?
Sometimes we are so focused on choosing gifts for our kids during the holidays that we forget to include them in buying gifts for others. My kids love drawing names for a Cousins Gift Exchange each Christmas and really take their time shopping for the perfect gift. I think it is nice to let them experience the old adage, "It is better to give than to receive."

My husband and I each take the kids to go shopping for each other so the kids get to pick presents for Mom and Dad without us knowing. Also I take each of my three kids out separately to buy gifts for their brother and sister. I really love seeing what they pick out for their siblings. They put a lot of thought into it.

This is what I intend to do, but somehow haven't managed the past couple of years! I do try to have my kids make or choose something for my husband, but need to get them more involved in gift-giving to each other.
