Taking care of packing the lunchbox the night before sounds like a great way to remove some of the frenzy of the morning, but I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do this! If you (or your child!) packs school lunch, does it get made the night before or the morning of?

The first week or so of school, I do a stellar job of packing the kids' lunches the night before, with high quality, kid-approved lunch fare. My lunch packing standards begin to go way down from there, and I end up tossing a few edible things into each lunch bag before we race out the door each morning!

      Sounds familiar!

I am a night packer. I have lunches packed, snacks and water bottles in backpacks and clothes laid out for the morning. I like to do it at night because you never know what chaos could go down in the morning. It’s been a struggle the past few days getting back into the routine, but I know it will get easier.

I prefer to do as much as I can the night before as well. Mornings are chaotic enough. Some items I wait to make until the morning if I know that they'll get soggy or something overnight. We've still got another week or so left of summer vacation and then the chaos begins again.

For the most part I pack all the snacks the night before, then make sandwiches in the morning so that they'not soggy by lunch time.

I wake up early and make lunches before the kids are up. We do a lot of hot foods (quesadillas, mac n cheese, mini pizza, etc.) otherwise I'd probably do more nighttime prep.

I've been making our son's lunch in the morning. This works for now, but when our younger kids start school, it will probably make sense to make all lunches the night before!
