In specific to mommy and me fitness, Mama + Baby Yoga and Postpartum Pelvic Floor are two classes where babies are welcome to be carried, fed or rocked while you find this special time helpful to also strengthen your body and mind.
Buddha Belly Kids Yoga
Lisa R: Buddha Belly Kids Yoga is a mobile studio driven by two teachers with a background in children's education. You can find their classes at favorite kid-oriented spots throughout Chicago. Choose from classes tailored to narrow age bands from birth-teen, or sign up for a family class. Buddha Belly also offers private classes for block parties, sports teams, and birthday parties.

Alpha Kids Shine
Lisa R: Alpha Kids Shine uses fun classes and movement camps to help kids achieve their best, physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. There yoga classes at Edgewater Playhouse include mommy and me classes, drop-off classes for 4 to 5 year olds, and family classes that serve a range of ages and are perfect for siblings. Story time yoga welcomes both independent kids and kids participating alongside a parent to enjoy props and dress up costumes while they act out a story with yoga poses.

Lisa R: This Ravenswood yoga studio offers a variety of quality yoga & wellness classes steps from the Ravenswood Metra and Damen Brown line. Join other parents for a gentle yoga flow and breath work in this laid back class that invites kids to join in or do their own thing.

Lisa R: This Logan Square yoga studio offers a range of yoga classes for all ages, including prenatal classes, weekend family yoga, and a weekday yoga playgroup. Family classes use dancing, singing, story-telling, partner poses to make yoga fun for tots to tweens. New parents love connecting with each other in the Baby & Tot Yoga Playgroup where young learners encouraged to learn, stretch and socialize.

Chrissy OGorman: At Bloom, they have classes for students of all ages and levels of fitness. With the help of their skilled instructors, both beginners and more seasoned practitioners will feel welcome. They have lots of family based options at their studio. Starting as young as 6 weeks babies and caregivers can go to Mom & Baby classes. Parents can also attend classes with kids at Parent & Tot or Storytime Yoga. Once kids are a bit older they can go to class alone and attend Kids Yoga or Teen/Tween Yoga.

Lisa R: Drop in to play and make art at this sweet play space and take this kids yoga class! Little ones of all ages and abilities will love stretching their bodies and making silly sounds while bonding with their caregiver in this weekly class taught by Kids HeArt Yoga.

Urban Yoga Chicago - Sacred Playground®
Lisa R: This unique yoga and meditation program was created especially for kids and helps them connect with their inner selves. Age separated classes are parent assisted up until age 6, where kids learn basic yoga poses and how to connect with their breath through games and chanting. Older kids further learn to connect with their bodies, self-calm, and improve communication.

Kids HeArt Yoga
Lisa R: Kids HeArt Yoga runs inspirational classes for babies, kids and tweens at schools, play spaces, and fitness studios around Chicago. Their classes use yoga to introduce students to topics such as teamwork, empathy, self confidence and gratitude. Check their schedule to find classes near you or book a private session for your family or for a birthday party.

Heaven Meets Earth Yoga Studio
Chrissy OGorman: Children’s yoga experts at Heaven Meets Earth can help child or teen is experiencing anxiety, depression, weight or self-esteem issues or has been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. They'll also come to you school and provide yoga and meditation programming. During the summer they offer fun camps for kids. Heaven Meets Earth is has a very inclusive feeling and a cute boutique filled with yoga accessories.

Erin P.: Body & Brain offers 'Power Brain' Yoga for Kids (PBK). The class is designed to help develop children physically with yoga and tai chi training. Each class is designed to strengthen the body, balance brain function and awaken latent brain potential. The classes are fun, engaging and help foster a sense of cooperation between the students. With over 10 Chicagoland locations, currently PBK is offered at their Mt. Prospect and Orland Park locations.
YogaKids of Oak Park
Kelly R.: "Yoga Kim" Vulinovik has been teaching yoga to kids and teens for over 15 years under the YogaKids methodology. Classes are held at Ahimsa in Oak Park, a spacious studio with comfortable seating for waiting parents. Classes include Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Tween and Teen Yoga. Kim also holds pre-school classes at day care facilities, and partners with PTOs for after-school classes at elementary schools.

In Kids Yoga kids will practice a fun, active and relaxing yoga class where they will practice asanas that balance, stretch and strengthen while also playing fun yoga movement games. In Youth Yoga older kids will be introduced to breathing techniques, flowing yoga asanas (poses), guided relaxation with visualization, and meditation. And, they occasionally offer a family yoga class where everyone can practice together!
