What type of books do your kids read most?
There are SO many wonderful ways to engage in reading. How do your kids get their literary fix most often?
-
It's a mix of our own books and library books, some of which are school recommendations. We always read the book. We don't read e-books—there is no replacement for the actual book!
-
I used to be in the "e-books are no replacement" camp, but I do appreciate the ability to check out e-books from the library with less of a wait. If I love an e-book, I'm likely to go purchase the hard copy, though.

My kids love reading new books, and prefer to keep a regular rotation of fresh ones from the library. We try to go weekly so they can load up. I don't really buy books anymore, because the ones we own never get read!
-
I typically purchase books that are most loved so we can read them whenever we want, but the library is a great "testing ground" for that!

Both of my kids get books from their school library as well as through Scholastic book orders. They also both have Kindles and we do borrow books through our town library for the Kindle as well as regular books.

Our kiddos have a wonderful library at their school that they get to check books out from weekly. Their school also sends home scholastic book order forms monthly which is a great resource for us! The local library is a monthly stop for us as well!
-
I need to go to the library more! We've accumulated quite a library through Scholastic orders and bookstore purchases, and my kids are young enough that they can still read the same books over and over. This poll will be my motivation to head to the library this weekend.

We usually get our books through the library. My middle guy is not a huge reader so I am usually the one who has to search for books for him to read. He'll typically oblige since reading time is part of nightly homework.
