My 6 year old loves his running program and I see a fair number of kids who don't love team sports there. They do individual activities, like quick sprints and longer jogs, and the coaches have them work together and build team spirit in other ways.

My kids have really enjoyed and benefited from cross country running. They started in middle school, which I think was a good age for them, though I know some of their teammates had been part of a local running program even before middle school.

Ninja Warrior/ Boot Camp/ Kick Boxing/ Cardio Classes. Unique kids schedules are often found at specialized, local adult gyms now.

I am a huge fan of martial arts. I love that they provide great physical exercise, but also promote and support important life skills like discipline, confidence, and respect for self and others.

    Girl Scouts or Book Club

I have found Girl Scouts to be great for developing friendships and a sense of "team" unity like kids often find in sports.

Tumbling. Hardly (if at all) competitive unless you want it to be. It can also be about age-appropriate and coach-assisted cartwheels, strengthening, flips and fun.

Rock Climbing Clubs - many indoor rock climbing facilities offer that now.

Track, swimming, gymnastics are all good individual sports for kids.

Yoga has been really fun for my kids. I feel that it's good for their physical and emotional health, and it's nice that they can do it together even though they're three years apart. It also doesn't require any commitment beyond the weekly class and can easily be worked into our schedule - no games, recitals, etc!

Theater has been wonderful for my kids, who don't have much interest in traditional team sports. There is still a strong element of teamwork to it. I love the way theater boosts self-confidence, helps develop friendships, and also keeps them active.
