Chicago Touch-A-Truck Events That Fuel the Fun

Bring the family out to see the dump trucks, fire engines, ambulances, police cars and more! Climb in and see the vehicles that make the city work!

12-3pm

Learn more about Village services during the Police National Night Out and Public Works Touch-A-Truck event this summer! Stop by the Lisle Police Department to interact with Police and Public Works Department staff, meet local organizations and businesses, sit in a squad car, look at the Village’s fleet of trucks and equipment, watch SWAT and K-9 demonstrations, take a tour of the Police Department, enjoy food, drinks, giveaways and much more.

5-8pm

The Park District of Highland Park is inviting kids (with their parents!) to drop by Sunset Park and check out the view from the driver’s seat, where the biggest, coolest, shiniest trucks around will be on display.

Bring your children to discover a variety of local vehicles up close. At past Touch-a-Truck events, the Batavia Park District's trolley, as well as a fire truck, police car, bus, tow truck, tractors and more have made appearances! Come explore! Sensory-friendly time will be offered.

Kids and families can explore a variety of vehicles, honk horns, and meet the heroes who operate them—all while embracing the benefits of unplugging from screens and enjoying outdoor fun! Please note that this will be sensory friendly from 10:30-11.

10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Children have the chance to experience what it feels like to sit behind the wheel of different vehicles and learn more about what the vehicle is used for.

Explore Touch-a-Truck outside and walk inside the Terrace Centre for their open house!

5:30-7:30pm

Get up close and personal with 40+ vehicles for kids to climb and explore, plus music, train rides, food trucks and more at this fully outdoors family festival.

Dress up in your Halloween costume for this special Halloween event for truck-loving kids at the Palos Pool Parking Lot! Trucks, tractors, emergency vehicles and heavy equipment will all be available for kids to explore! Children will also receive a treat from each vehicles vendor.

6-8pm

Community Hero Day will feature a wide range of attractions including a touch-a-truck experience, fire truck rides, live fire department demonstrations, free hands-only CPR classes, face painting, and more!

Enjoy all the big trucks rolling into the Addison Park District!

Climb on and explore your favorite vehicles including fire engines, police cars and construction trucks while you rub elbows with your hometown heroes.

Your little ones will love sitting behind the wheels in every type of vehicle imaginable, and honking the horns to their hearts' content. The first hour is designated as a noise-limited hour.

10:30am-2:30pm

Check out all the different vehicles that "roll" through town every day doing important work! The lineup will include everything from fire and police trucks, semis, dump trucks, construction equipment and a wide range of park district and public works vehicles.

12pm

This free event allows children to explore different trucks from around the community. They are welcome to climb, honk, and touch these large machines from right behind the wheel!

10am-12pm

Climb and explore a variety of vehicles at Touch a Truck in Berens Park. The first hour will be a quiet hour designed for kids who love trucks, but not the noise.

9am-12pm

Preschoolers ages 1-5 will have an opportunity to see, touch and experience a variety of community vehicles including a police car, fire truck, tractor and many more! Kids also will meet the community helpers who drive them.

11am-1pm

Check out the Village of Norridge's annual Touch-a-Truck event.

12-2pm

Touch a Truck is part of the larger Nostalgia Days event!

Head over to Maryknoll Park to see all sorts of big trucks and machines on wheels. Kids can even interact with the drivers! There will be raffles and giveaways while supplies last.

10am-12pm

Show off your Halloween costume while trick-or-treating through the aisles of trucks. Leashed dogs are welcome to join the activities, and participate in a doggie costume contest!
