Milwaukee's Pridefest has been a city tradition for 30 years, bringing together the LGBTQ community and their allies in a celebration complete with dancing, noted public speakers, and costumes. The children and family stage offers magicians, singers, puppet shows and pirates, story tellers, fire breathers, animal experts, superhero’s and more to keep young kids entertained until the early evening.

Westown’s free, outdoor summer concert series in Pere Marquette Park is a great place to enjoy the beautiful summer weather in Milwaukee on Wednesday nights! River Rhythms will host to some of the area's finest local talent for a concert series. Food trucks and snack vendors will be available as well, serving local food to concertgoers.

Gina I. said:  Bagpipes, colorful floats, marching bands...The Shamrock Club of Wisconsin's St. Patrick's Day Parade has all the essential ingredients for family fun! The parade kicks off at noon at 3rd Street & Wisconsin Avenue and finishes at Water Street & Highland Avenue. Plenty of excellent viewing areas are available along Old World Third Street. The Hunger Task Force will be collecting canned and shelf goods along the parade route to stock local food pantries.

Shila said:  Mama Tried Motorcycle Show is an indoor invitational that connects motorcycles and builders to fans and riders alike. Mama Tried Motorcycle Show features over 100 motorcycles from builders of all calibers—flat-tracker, hill climber, chopper, and bar hopper. Locations vary based on event, be sure to double check your event location. Be sure to check out Flat out Friday which is a crazy event where riders race around a track soaked in Dr. Pepper!

The event, held at the Wisconsin Center, will include appearances by the Brewers crew as will as autographs, photo opportunities, game shows, kids baseball clinics, a kids zone, and interactive games.

Cost: in advance adults are $17 and kids (under 15) are $12. Premiums on all tickets sold at the door and cash only

Shila said:  Over 500 new cars, trucks and SUVs will fill the Wisconsin Center for the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show! The Auto Show hosts fun activities throughout the floor such as interactive driving displays, zip-lining, mini golf, car karaoke, and a kids test track! At this track, kids will have the chance to show-off their driving skills with various electric powered vehicles on a mini roadway track.

Cost: $9 - $12 for adults, kids under 17 are free

Shila said:  Bring the family out to the 153rd annual Memorial Day Parade and honor everyone who has served our country. The parade starts at 4th and Wisconsin Ave and finishes at the War Memorial Center.

Shila said:  Come see trucks do crazy dare-devil stunts! Everyone young and old can enjoy a monster truck rally - just be sure to bring your ear plugs! Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Closed toe shoes are required. With your ticket you can attend a Pit Party where you'll have the opportunity to visit the venue floor, meet some of the drivers, and see some of the trucks up close!

Lisa R said:  This five week running program for kids instills a love of running through short, age-appropriate races at the Frank Lloyd Wright Football Field. Kids earn points for participating in each race and special prizes are awarded to the top racers at the end of the program. All kids receive a medal and gift bag after the last race. Volunteer opportunities are available for older family members.

Lisa R said:  This local Saturday market takes place at Wilson Park Senior Center. You can shop for fresh, local veggies and enjoy time with your family. Beautiful landscaping, numerous benches, and a small stream make this a lovely place to spend the day outside as a family.

Lisa R said:  Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with an Old-Timey drink at the Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear. All paying visitors will be treated to a green ice cream float as long as supplies last. If you miss the sodas, don't worry, there is a lot of great exhibits at the museum!

Cost: included with admission, $6 for adults, $5 for kids (7-17) and free for kids under 7

Shila said:  This family event provides a unique opportunity for kids to explore & learn about all types of vehicles—emergency, construction, transportation, utility, delivery, & many more all in one area. Kids will be allowed to touch, climb, sit in the driver’s seat, pose for photos, & ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. The 'Kids Fun Zone' will include food, face painting, coloring contests & more.
