The San Francisco Zoo is a 100-acre urban zoo home to over 2,000 exotic, endangered, and rescued animals from around the world. Located near the Pacific Ocean, it offers engaging exhibits, a children’s zoo, and educational programs for all ages.

Sue Krawitz Tandoc said: The Marine Mammal Center's mission is global ocean conservation by way of mammal rescue and care, scientific research and education. Their facility is open to the public to see many animals such as sea lions, fur seals, elephant seals, otters and more They offer docent and audio tours, family programs as well as special events and Marine Science Sunday highlighting their many animals and preservation and rescue efforts that allow for family participation. They even have a Seals & Slippers Family Sleepover program!

Sausalito, CAAlcatraz Island
Sue Krawitz Tandoc said: Alcatraz Island, a national historic landmark, offers visitors rich history, nature and culture in exploration of the Rock. It is a great learning and discovery experience for kids as they will enjoy the military and federal penitentiary and American Indian history, discovering rare artifacts, seeing beautiful seabirds and taking the ferry ride to the Island.
Alcatraz Cruises offers ferry service with a complete ticket price including audio tour and fees. Special events and exhibits are available.
