Tracy Snyder Molina said: This tree-lined park features a sunning beach, large sea creature-themed playground with fantastic marine animal sculpture and gorgeous views of Biscayne Bay and the Port of Miami. It's a nice place to pack a picnic lunch, take a walk and catch some of the scheduled entertainment in the large amphitheater. Check here for a list of daily events.

History Miami Museum
Tracy Snyder Molina said: This Smithsonian Affiliate museum offers a variety of exhibitions on South Florida's history and strives to connect people by sharing the stories of Miami’s communities, individuals, places and events and highlighting the importance of the past in shaping Miami’s future. On the second Saturday of each month, the museum's Free Family Fun Days offers a day full of free things to do, learn, and experience with the whole family. Older kids will also like the off-site historical tours, including art walks of Miami neighborhoods.
Cost: $10 adult/$5 child (6-12)
Marlins Park
Tracy Snyder Molina said: Marlins Park, home to the Miami Marlins, makes a great choice for families looking for a fun and affordable sporting event. If you attend a game on a Friday nights, kids will enjoy the added bonus of a fireworks display at the end of the game. Saturday games feature a giveaway or unique theme and on Sunday Funday (any Marlins home game on a Sunday) there are family-friendly activities such as pregame catch on the field and children running the bases post-game.
Cost: Purchase tickets here. Kids under three are free and do not require a ticket.
Little Havana
Tracy Snyder Molina said: Little Havana is one of Miami’s most well-known and colorful neighborhoods. Enjoy Cuban specialties and a cafe con leche at Versailles, stroll along Calle Ocho, watch the boats go by on the Miami River and admire the vibrant mural depicting the faces of famous Latinos like Celia Cruz, Ruben Dario and Selena. Kids will get a kick out of checking out the costumes at Casa De Los Trucos (House of Tricks) and enjoying some of Miami's best ice cream at Azucar Ice Cream Company.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
You'd be surprised how much fun families can have at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, a captivating waterfront Italian Renaissance-style villa with beautiful gardens, over-the-top fairytale architecture and stunning views of Biscayne Bay. Guided and audio tours of the main house and gardens are available and the hedge mazes are the perfect spot for burning off some energy.

Tracy Snyder Molina said: With year-round warm weather, South Florida families will love this totally unique swimming space made from a spring-fed coral rock quarry complete with waterfalls and cave-like grottos. It's worth noting that because the swimming area is spring-fed the water can run on the cool side. Also, kids under 3 are not permitted. A concession stand with hot and cold food, drinks, snacks and a large variety of ice creams is also available on weekends only except during the summer months.
Cost: $10- $20 non-residents/$4.75 - $5.75 for Coral Gables residents. Annual membership available.
Crandon Park
Tracy Snyder Molina said: Crandon Park with its pristine 2-mile beach, lifeguards, and picnic areas is perfect for families. Other attractions include a vintage carousel, paved roller rink,seahorse fountain, nature center with self-guided trails and ecoadventure tours.
Cost: Parking fee of $5 weekdays/$7 weekends

Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center
Tracy Snyder Molina said: The Biscayne Nature Center offers a series of family adventures on things like coastal ecology, hiking through a coastal hammock ecosystem, exploring a fossil reef tidal pool, and a gentle catch and release of sea urchins, seahorses , starfish and pipefish all living in the rich seagrass bed ecosystem. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (305) 361-6767 x119.There's also several interactive exhibits to check out as well as an art gallery and gift shop.
Cost: $14 per person for family programs. Memberships are available for access to member-only events and donations are welcome.
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park
Tracy Snyder Molina said: This state park features quiet sandy beaches and stunning views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic atop the historic 1825 Cape Florida Lighthouse. Cape Florida, or was named by the famous explorer, Ponce de Leon, during the first Spanish expedition to Florida in 1513. Guided tours of the lighthouse and keeper's cottage are available. In addition, there is a large picnic pavilion, hiking trails, paved bike path and on-site restaurant.
Cost: $8 per vehicle (2-8 ppl), $2 for pedestrians and bicycles

Matheson Hammock Park
Matheson Hammock Park is a serene, family-friendly park just south of Coral Gables, with a shallow, tide-fed atoll pool perfect for little ones. There are picnic pavilions, gentle nature trails, and on-site kayak rentals that make it easy for parents and kids to enjoy a day outdoors together.

Easily one of the city's most picturesque locations, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is home to hidden trails through lakes, rainforests, exotic trees, and lots of flowers.
