Christmas in Dallas: 2024 Family Events & Activities

Based on the classic Christmas movie for kids and families.

Help the farmhands decorate for Christmas and make an ornament to take home.

10am-12pm

Santa's Village is set up like a real village, but on a child-size scale. You'll find little "dwellings" like Santa's Fire Station, Santa's Symphony Hall, Mrs. Claus's Bakery, and many more! Holiday-themed performances from local choirs, dance groups, and musicians will take place on Prancer's Stage each night.

American Girl has so many fun holiday events taking place this Christmas season! You can join them for Holiday Cookie Decorating, Santa Brunch, and Holiday Teatime. Events range in cost and length.

Join Santa at his Country Christmas in Seagoville! You'll drive in your own car through over 2.5 million lights with different holiday themes. The drive takes about 40 minutes to complete- and your kids will be in awe the entire ride!

6-10pm

Experience a special one-hour performance of Christmas Pops with the whole family! Come to the Meyerson before the show for arts and crafts, an instrument petting zoo, and photos with Santa. 

11am

Four million lights in two miles. Can you imagine?! You'll see hundreds of displays as you drive through this winter wonderland! Halfway through the drive, you'll find carnival rides, concessions, photos with Santa, the magical walk-thru forest, and more! The rest of your drive finishes with an animated light tunnel that will amaze your kids, and you, too!

6pm

Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza is an exhilarating 20-minute show full of game day excitement and Christmas cheer! The event kicks off with the lighting of The Star’s 67-foot Christmas tree by a Dallas Cowboys alumni, followed by performances from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue, Cowboys Rookie Squad, Rowdy, and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

The classic holiday story of Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol comes to life at the Wyly Theatre this Christmas season. Follow the grouchy Scrooge, as he learns the true meaning of Christmas. You'll be fully immersed in this re-imagined production, with ghosts flying above your head and popping out of the floor, and snow falling from the sky. The production is filled with traditional Christmas music as well as new music, plus joyful, fun choreography!

Fill your heart with music, merriment, and warmth, as you remember the true meaning of this holiday season with Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts Gang! The holidays wouldn’t be the same without this Charles Schulz classic and a live jazz trio.

A holiday celebration that’s bigger and brighter than ever before! Ring in the holidays at the annual Christmas in the Stockyards, featuring festive activities such as the holiday ice rink, sounds of the season, photos with Cowboy Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus, reindeer games, a matinee rodeo, the Ultimate Bull Fighters World Finals and a spectacular Christmas Parade!

A great way to start December at the center of downtown Dallas, Klyde Warren Park's tree lighting will have you ready for Christmas!

4-7pm

Join Molly and her mom on a magical treasure hunt through New York City! With Christmas parodies of today’s most popular songs, this yuletide spectacular is guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit. This show is suitable for all audiences.

Get into the holiday spirit at Fort Worth's Parade of Lights! The parade will travel through downtown, with over 100 floats lit up in the Christmas spirit. Santa will bring up the end of the parade, in a float made especially for him!

6pm

Join the city in this outdoor celebration while watching marching bands, floats, and musical performances. It's a great tradition for the whole family to enjoy!

9am

Since its first performance in 1892, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker has evoked the wonder and joy of the holiday season. You will want to make Ben Stevenson’s spectacular production of this perennial favorite part of your holiday tradition.

Snowland, Great Wolf Lodge's annual holiday celebration, is an immersive winter wonderland filled with special seasonal events, winter activities, crafts, visits with Santa Claus, and more.

Offering over 20 attractions including, the Dipsy Doodle Coaster and Texas Tubin' Hill Slide, Mainstay's Christmas Adventure lets you play, visit Santa (and take pictures with him for free!), and find the perfect Christmas tree! You can also choose-&-cut a tree!

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s holiday favorite features a collection of holiday tunes and a visit from ol’ Kris Kringle himself.

7:30pm

Dancing along side the full international professional cast in this version of The Nutcracker are local Dallas children!

3pm & 7pm

From the iconic 95-foot-tall Christmas tree to SNOWDAY, an immersive photo experience, the holiday celebration at Galleria Dallas is spectacular. Festivities span the season with live entertainment, holiday skate shows, and daily snow.

At Yesterland Farm, you'll find a wagon train ride around the farm, pictures with Santa and other Christmas photo ops, a variety of amazement rides, a petting zoo, and more!

Holiday lights and décor will accentuate a lovely half-mile Heard nature trail. Your family will be enchanted by this nighttime hike through the woods. 

6-9pm

Christmas at Gaylord Texan offers a holiday showplace like no other as you wind your way through the larger-than-life sculptures, zoom down thrilling frozen slides, and traverse awe-inspiring tunnels. Escape to Gaylord Texan to enjoy the splendor of the holiday season.

Experience enchanting holiday magic for the entire family at Holiday in the Park! Featuring musical shows, twinkling lights, holiday treats, Santa, and much more at Six Flags Over Texas.

Dallas Zoo Lights features more than two million lights twinkling across most of the Zoo, larger-than-life glowing lanterns, elaborate holiday-themed displays, visits to Santa’s Workshop, photo ops. and festive holiday drinks and snacks for adults and kids.
