Go on a Nature Hike
Agreatmom2! said: Take pictures of all the animals you see. Print the pictures and you can even make a photo album.
Learn to Hula Hoop
Some kids pick it up more easily than others, but hula hooping is a fun summer activity that pretty much has to be done outside!
Sue Krawitz Tandoc said: My kids have so much fun (and laughs!) doing the hula hoop to see how long they can keep it going and see who can keep it going the longest. Also, there are many fun games to play with the hoop (ring toss, hoop jump, hoop-scotch and more!) for the perfect outdoor summer activity. As a bonus hula hoops can be purchased at most dollar stores.
Learn to Do a Split
Learn to do a split for the summer bucket list. Improving flexibility takes a lot of time! Kids will need to learn how to properly stretch a little bit every day.

Build a Sandcastle
When you head to the beach this summer, make sure to bring along some sand toys to construct an epic sandcastle!
Flashlight Tag
Flashlight tag is a cross between hide-and-seek and tag, but in the dark! The player who is "it" uses a flashlight and has to tag other players by shining the beam of the flashlight on them.
Family Bike Ride
If your kids are old enough and sufficiently comfortable on their bikes, consider going on a longer family bike ride than you might normally take. Find a bike trail you want to explore, pack lots of water and snacks, and make a morning or afternoon of it!
Master a Gymnastics Trick
Kids who have always wanted to do a cartwheel, a handstand or another gymnastics trick will have plenty of time over the summer to get it done, as long as they remember to practice.
Shila said: Learn to cartwheel then up your game by mastering a 1-handed cartwheel next! Whether it be on your trampoline or the lawn, solid gymnastics skills (i.e., headstands, handstands, flips, bridges) can take weeks to fully perfect. And, it's a great outdoor backyard activity for kids! Supervision recommended. ;)
Learn to Mow the Lawn
Once they're old enough, kids can learn to mow the lawn over the summer. It's a good life skill, and a good first job if they find some neighbors who want to pay for the service.
See a Parade
Parades are the ultimate summertime celebrations, so be sure to add one to your summer bucket list!
