16 Splash Pads Around Phoenix To Beat the Heat

Katie G.:  The splash pad at Eastmark Great Park is gated, shaded and surrounded by palm trees. The concrete ground is filled with several spray fountains that shoot up and down at different heights.

Katie G.:  This large splash pad in Queen Creek has a giant water tower that sprays out water below, dumping buckets, water cannons, mini water "mushrooms" and rings for kids to run through and get wet. Restrooms and a water fountain are located nearby. There is a small shaded area with benches to sit on, but your best best is to bring a blanket, towel or lawn chair and sit in the grassy area.

Katie G.:  This pirate-themed splash pad in Queen Creek has a soft rubber surface with fountains that shoot up at different heights along with water cannons, an enormous dumping bucket and a fun pirate ship to explore. There are plenty of awnings overhanging the splash pad offering shade for all and plenty of seating with benches and a grassy area nearby.

Katie G.:  Located in the SanTan Village children's play area, the splash pad is open seasonally and features shooting fountains from the soft, rubber ground. There is plenty of seating nearby along with family restrooms.

Katie G.:  Water Tower Plaza is in downtown Gilbert and surrounds the historic Gilbert Water Tower and Adobe Pump House. The spot features water walls, a floating granite ball and a splash pad with fountains that pop up and spray from the ground. There are benches and a large grassy area with shade.

Katie G.:  Pioneer Park has a splash pad, playground, treehouse, suspension bridge, train and more. The mostly shaded splash pad features a 15-foot water wall and water spouts from the ground.

Katie G.:  The colorful splash pad includes a tower that drop water on kids below, three candy-cane shaped spray fountains, four spray rings and plenty of splashes from the ground. There are restrooms conveniently located nearby as well as covered picnic tables for shade.

Katie G.:  The circular, fenced in splash pad has colorful loops that spray water and fountains that shoot water up from the ground. Bring buckets to fill and dump on each other for a fun time. Note, the surface is made of concrete and there is limited shade at the park.

Katie G.:  Desert Ridge Marketplace has a splash pad near the AMC Theatres with fountain-style jets that spray from the ground. There's plenty of seating for parents.

Katie G.:  Kids can splash among larger-than-life flowers, insects and surf stones at this small but unique spray pad. There's a shaded seating area around the park.

Katie G.:  This fun rainforest-themed splash playground in Tempe has water shooting up from the ground and water rings to run through. There's a periodic "rainstorm" with misting water and thunderstorm sound effects. Visit at night for cool light-up features at the park.

Katie G.:  This fun Glendale splash pad has dumping buckets, spray hoops, jets and movable sprayers. A shaded, grassy area is nice for watching the kids play. Be sure to bring chairs or towels to sit on, as there is limited seating.

Katie G.:  Located across from the AMC, this interactive splash pad has water jets that shoot up from the ground. Fountain Park is surrounded by lush trees and landscaping with plenty of seating nearby.

Katie G.:  Gateway Park has a kid-favorite splash pad with ground jets, spray tunnel hoops, an interactive water spinner, and a large overhead flood bucket that fills and spills. The park also has a cool playground and a hot dog cafe.
