Greene Park
Shila: Normally a popular park for baseball and practice fields, just west of the parking lot is where you'll come across Greene Park's day-time sledding hill (weather permitting). There are also restrooms and a nearby tot lot if your kids ever need a break from the hill.
Humboldt Park
Humboldt Park is a popular community spot for outdoor seasonal events. With its lagoon, lily pond and scenic pathways, it's beautiful year round. In the winter (weather permitting), they offer a great Milwaukee-area ice skating rink and sledding fun. The hill, located in the northwest section of the park, even offers kids a chance to sled under the nighttime sky as it is lit daily during winter hours.
St. Mary's Hill at Milwaukee Lakefront
Shila: St. Mary's Hill is located along the lakefront on Lake Drive near downtown Milwaukee. With its 40 degree or so grade, this is a popular hill for working out & fitness boot camp. Use caution when sledding. A street & parking lot extend at the foot of the hill.
Wilson Recreation
Shila: Wilson Recreation offers winter recreation opportunities such as ice skating and hockey. A little southwest of the Wilson Ice Arena will be a day-time sledding hill (weather permitting) run by Milwaukee County Parks.
Pulaski Park
Shila: Milwaukee County Parks offers this sledding hill (weather permitting) at the north end of Pulaski Park. It gives families a chance to sled under the stars because it is lit during evening winter hours.
Mount Bayside
Shila: Bayside Village residents enjoy a local sled hill, Mount Bayside, that's located north of Village Hall on the corner of Fairy Chasm and Regent Roads. Parking is available in the lot located off of Fairy Chasm Road, on the west side of the sled hill. Please do not park on the street.
The Rock Sports Complex
Shila: This all-terrain athletic facility also offers family tubing. They have 19 tubing lanes that are serviced by a Magic Carpet conveyor to bring you back to the top with your tube.
Brown Deer Park
Shila: Just north of Currie Park Golf Course is Brown Deer Park. And Brown Deer Park has a daytime sledding hill by the boathouse. You can park in either lot, but you'll find the hill on the north side of the water.
Whitnall Park
In the park alongside the Wehr Nature Center, Boerner Botanical Gardens and Whitnall Park Golf Course is a popular sled hill. The sled hill is located next to the golf clubhouse. Enjoy concessions at the nearby clubhouse, as well as ski and snowshoe rentals for more winter recreational fun. The hill is also lit during the evening.
Wilmot Mountain Ski Resort - Tubing
Along with skiing and snowboarding, Wilmot Mountain's tubing area has 22 lanes of over 1,000 ft long. They provide the tubes as well as two surface conveyor lifts to take you back up the hill. Parents, if you need a break, you can still watch over from a deck overlooking the entire area. Of course there are also food and drinks at this popular resort often frequented by locals and tourists alike.
McCarty Park
Shila: McCarty Park in West Allis has a sledding hill east of the Cleveland Ave parking lot and just after you cross over the Oak Leaf Trail. Weather permitting, this hill is open for day time use. And the nearby lagoon is a nice stop to take in the winter scene and snap a few photos.
LaFollette Park
Shila: LaFollette Park is an 18-acre park in West Allis that's popular for many community events, play fields and summer recreation. Just north of its Pavilion is a hill commonly used during snowy days for sledding. The hill's landing spot is wide open field space, so kids can slide down and safely space out.
Valley View Park
Shila: Valley View Park in New Berlin is over 75 acres of park, with hiking trails, a groomed cross-country ski trail and other recreational opportunities like disc golf. In the winter, there's a lighted sledding hill where you'll also see tobogganers.
Currie Park
Shila: Currie Park is a golf course in Wauwatosa. In the winter when conditions permit, the park gives way to sledding opportunities. The sledding hill (weather permitting) is located in the center of the course nearest the clubhouse and is lit daily for the after school crowd.
Mee-Kwon Park (Mule Hill)
Shila: Mee-Kwon Park or "Mule Hill" as locally known is open during park hours and when weather conditions permit. The hill is known to have a long shallow grade and often bring many families to enjoy sledding and tobogganing within this 63.4 acre park. A warming house is also located by the pond.
