Olentangy River Parklands
Hannah Scott said: The Olentangy River Parklands has a variety of sledding hills to choose from: small and gentle (near the tennis courts), medium size and difficulty (for sledding and snowboarding), and a drop for daredevils near Wilson Bridge Road (which isn't safe to send your kids on). One of the best perks of this hill is the hay bales set up around obstacles to keep erratic sleds from serious collisions.
Worthington, OHWyman Woods Park
Hannah Scott said: A step up from the little hills, Wyman Woods Park has a decent-sized sledding hill to enjoy. Restrooms are available on the premises, but parking may be a bit limited if other people plan to enjoy the hill as well.
Kenney Park
Hannah Scott said: The small hills at Kenney Park are perfect for less adventurous sledding -- enough of an incline to catch a bit of wind, but not so much that anyone feels out of control. Access to the park can be found west of the Kroger Marketplace.
Columbus, OHAntrim Park
Hannah Scott said: Antrim Park has a shorter sledding hill that may be best suited for smaller kids who aren't quite ready to tackle the larger, steeper hills this year. Parents will be thankful for a shorter climb back to the top as well! (You're welcome.)
Columbus, OHHighbanks Metro Park
Kelly R said: Highbanks has two sledding hills in the Big Meadows Picnic Area, with one designated for kids age 10 and under.
Lewis Center, OHFryer Park
Kelly R said: Fryer Park has a hill that is used for sledding in the winter, and for movie watching in the summer!
Grove City, OHBig Run Park
Hannah Scott said: Big Run Park offers a unique sledding hill with two different terrains. The more adventurous can ride the bumpy side while the more cautious can stick to the smooth side. This is the perfect compromise if you have multiple children at different levels of sledding comfort or experience! Just be aware that restrooms are not guaranteed to be open.
Columbus, OHLiberty Park
Kelly R said: Come out and enjoy a day of sledding at beautiful Liberty Park!
Powell, OHScioto Park
Katie G. said: Enjoy sledding with the family down the big hill at Scioto Park in Dublin. The hill is lined with hay bales so sledders can stay on a straight path. There are restrooms available at the park, along with posted safety rules for sledders. The park gets crowded on snowy days and there is limited parking so get there early!
Dublin, OHDelaware State Park
Kelly R said: When the conditions are right, visitors can enjoy a sledding hill.
Delaware, OHRoger A. Reynolds Municipal Park
Hannah Scott said: You'll find this sledding hill between the ball fields and the aquatic center. Parking may be limited, but this is definitely a fan favorite!
Hilliard, OHBallantrae Community Park
Kelly R said: The hill bearing the iconic Dancing Hares statue makes for fun sledding.
Dublin, OHGallant Woods Park
Hannah Scott said: At Gallant Woods, you can park right in front of the sledding hill! This is a great perk if you want to take a few minutes to warm up and then go back for round 2. Restrooms and a public shelter are located down the road.
Delaware, OHBattelle Darby Creek Metro Park
Kelly R said: Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park has a lower hill that's great for young kids.
Grove City, OHBlues Creek Park
Hannah Scott said: If you'd rather not walk half a mile to your sledding hill, Blues Creek Park is a great bet. The sledding hill is in the middle, conveniently adjacent to restrooms and parking. Those with kids under 5 (AKA kids with tiny bladders) will appreciate the proximity of the bathroom!
