Erin P.: Aqua-Tots Swim School teaches children of all ages and abilities how to swim. They are passionate about teaching children everything that they need to know to stay safe in the water. At Aqua-Tots, you can try your first swim lesson for free.
AquaSafe Swim School
Erin P.: AquaSafe Swim School prides themselves on offering small classes and quality instruction. They offer a perpetual schedule, so you can begin and end classes based on your own needs. They do request that you commit to at least 8 weeks. If you're on the fence about committing to this program, they do offer a free trial class!
Desert Swim School
Erin P.: Desert Swim School offers parent-tot classes that are fun, informative, and safety-based. They will introduce water safety techniques, such as how to properly hold your child in the water and how to effectively supervise your little swimmer. They will also teach your tot basic swimming, including back floats, jumping in, and turning around. They also offer beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate and competitive swim lessons.
Hubbard Family Swim School
Erin P.: Hubbard Family Swim School offers a variety of swim lessons, divided by age and skill level. Once you find the class, day and time that works for your swimmer's skill level and schedule, you can register. You will remain registered until you give 30-day notice to withdraw or request a schedule change. Classes are held once a week for 30 minutes. The Baby Splash class for the littlest swimmers is offered for free! The focus of that class is on water safety skills, child bonding, water acclimation and comfort and balance in the water.
Kim Courtney's Swim School
Erin P.: The swim program at Kim Courtney's Swim School is designed to develop the instincts of children to react without hesitation when entering the water. They offer both group and private lessons. Classes are divided based on skill level. The youngest swimmers can learn a great deal through the "Make a Splash" class. In this parent-child class, the parent and the instructor will work together to teach the little swimmer water safety and basic swimming skills. Their classes run 30 minutes long, and each session includes 8 classes.
SWIMkids USA
Erin P.: SWIMkids USA is a great option for swim lessons. They train their instructors with one of the most intensive training programs in the country, and follow a research-based curriculum in which they teach swimming while incorporating child development best practices. Your little one may be able to get in the pool with the instructor (without the parent!) as early as 12 months. They also offer make-up lessons when needed. Classes range from Water Smart Infant all the way up to Competitive Swim Team. Classes are 30 minutes long.
ISR Self-Rescue® Survival Swimming Lessons
Erin P.: Infant Swimming Resource aims to help little swimmers gain the competence, confidence and skills necessary for aquatic safety. They provide completely individualized one-on-one lessons that are safe and effective. At a minimum, all little swimmers will learn to roll onto his or her back to float, rest, and breathe, and to maintain this position until help arrives.
Arcadia Swim for Kids
Erin P.: Arcadia Swim specializes in survival swim skills for infants and young children. The survival swim school is a 4 - 6 week course. Lessons are scheduled 5 days per week for 10 minutes each day. These are one-on-one lessons in which instructors teach the swimmer how to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, and maintain this position until help arrives or, if they are a little bit older, until they reach the side of the pool. Arcadia Swim also offers stroke lessons in freestyle, back stroke, butterfly and breast stroke for ages 3 to adult.
Gold Medal Swim School
Erin P.: Gold Medal Swim School offers both Baby Swim and Learn to Swim lessons. Their earliest classes focus on relaxation and comfort in the water as well as survival skills and beginning stroke work. Classes are 30 minutes long. If you are on the fence, they offer you the opportunity to try your first class for free. They also offer a free unlimited swim program, in which students can take additional, same-day classes for no extra charge.
Phoenix Swim Club
Erin P.: Phoenix Swim Club offers a progressive swimming instructional program. They pride themselves on small swim classes of 4-6 swimmers so that their instructors can provide a personalized experience based on individual skill levels and goals. Whether your little swimmer needs to learn basic water safety skills or is interested in becoming a competitive swimmer, the talented swim instructors will help them achieve these goals. Lessons are 30 minutes long, and can be held either two or four times per week.
The Phoenix Salvation Army Kroc Center
Erin P.: The Phoenix Salvation Army Kroc Center offers swim lessons for all ages and abilities. The talented swim instructors at the Kroc Center encourage everyone from toddlers to adults, and novices to athletes to achieve their swim goals. Kroc Tots is a parent-tot class for the youngest swimmers, along with their parents or caregivers. More advanced swimmers are grouped with other swimmers of similar abilities to continue to grow their skills. Private swim lessons are also available.
Deer Valley Pool
Erin P.: Deer Valley Pool offers swim lessons for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Starbabies is for little ones ages 6 months to 3 years old along with an adult. Instructors will teach parents how to help their little one become comfortable in the water. More advanced classes are available for every level of swimmers. You can register for a class based on your swimmer's current swimming abilities. Instructors will assess swimmers on the first day of lessons and may reassign them to a different class or level if they determine that will be a better fit.
Pam's School of Swim
Erin P.: Pam's School of Swim offers a variety of swim lessons at various times throughout the day. They teach swimmers of all ages and levels of ability. Little Seahorse are the classes for parents and toddlers. They also offer group, semi-private and private swim lessons for older swimmers. Classes are held once a week for 30 minutes, and group classes are capped at 3 students.
Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA
Erin P.: The YMCA prides themselves on offering swim lessons that are both standardized and flexible. Swim lessons are run in a similar fashion at YMCAs throughout the country, but their approach is also flexible in that it can be tailored to the needs of each swimmer. Their curriculum is organized into three general categories: Swim Starters, Swim Basics and Swim Strokes. They offer lessons from Parent and Child through Advanced.
Kidtastics, LLC
Erin P.: Kidtastics offers private, semi-private and group swim lessons. Lessons can be held at your home or one of their outdoor pools. They offer one-on-one lessons, parent and tot classes, aquatic survival skills, proper stroke technique, and lessons for kids with autism. The philosophy in each of their classes is that safety comes first. Lessons are either 30 or 45 minutes long.
