2025 Greater L.A. Summer Camps (Gathering Reviews)

The Arboretum's summer camp program boasts a low camper-to-counselor ratio, a unique theme for each weekly session, and include counselor-guided exploration of the gardens, scavenger hunts, and classes in art, gardening, and science. Pasadena Language Center concentrates on conversation and culture as part of their immersive language programs. Kids can partake in French, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish classes. Instructors use imitation and repetition to make learning language fun, utilizing music, movements, role play, story time, and more.

Tom Sawyer Camp gives kids a carefree summer experience filled with outdoor activity at Hahamonga Watershed Park. In addition to a mix of structured opportunities (swimming, horseback riding), kids take part in open-ended, creative, and exploratory outdoor adventures like fort building, group games, and other constructive (often muddy!) challenges. Outpost camp for middle schoolers provides greater challenge through rock climbing, windsurfing, and a ropes course.

Bloom School is known for offering interactive and engaging kids' music and dance classes, and their summer camp doesn't disappoint. Kids will learn music skills, sing, and perform dances to a variety of tunes, including an end-of-camp performance for family and friends.

Campers will learn pottery making techniques with activities like pinch pots and pottery wheel work. They'll make things like piggy banks, boxes, coil pots, and more, but clay camp also makes time for outdoor fun at the park and making friends.

Dive into fun at the Aquarium of the Pacific's Summer Camp. Each week, campers will learn all about animal adaptations and habitats. There will be opportunities for animal interactions, fun activities, games and more!

This immersive FREE summer camp in Los Angeles introduces kids to aerospace, electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering concepts. They'll build rockets, circuits, bridges, and robots- plus explore computer science with creating video games and coding apps. Enrollment is limited, and kids must have at least a B average in science and math classes. Applications are due by May 5, 2025, including a teacher recommendation.

The Natural History Museum invites kids to participate in hands-on weekly science and nature summer camps that are themed around museum topics, including everything from bugs to dinosaurs!
