Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee... Crowdsourced!

Georgie Porgie's Treefort Restaurant has been a community mainstay since 1991, serving delicious burgers and frozen custard in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Mad Rooster Cafe is a fun, down-to-earth place to take kids for breakfast or lunch! It's also great for parents- boasting that every dish is prepared with "mad style" and "mad flavor."

Molly Weber:  Just a short drive outside of Milwaukee, this retro style diner (with burgers, wraps, salads, fish fry, etc.) also has a great selection of sundaes, malts, shakes, or floats to pick from, and a marble top creamery where you can mix any custard and topping to create your own custard flavor. You can also pick from any of their custard flavors to blend or mix with coffee for a custard coffee beverage. All of these combinations make them the home of over one million flavors!

Vanessa M.:  On weekends, head over to O'Lydia's for a delicious way to start to the day. Try out the Breakfast Club, the sandwich that put O'Lydia's on the brunch map: fried egg, hash browns, bacon, American cheese and homemade Hollandaise on wheat toast. Or order their Irish Skillet: eggs scrambled with corned beef, Swiss cheese, green peppers and tomatoes over fried potatoes.

Erynn:  When you have to have a burger- and it has to be gluten-free- Stack'd staff is super knowledgeable and specially trained. Their restaurant utilizes separate fryers for gluten free orders, and burgers are available on GF rolls or a bed of greens. They also carry gluten-free beer for the grownups! Vegetarian and vegan options are extensive as well, and a basic kids' menu caters to the younger crowd.

Lisa R:  Bursting with unique, high quality selections of artisan ethnic products, and freshly-made prepared foods, the independent merchants of the Milwaukee Public Market offer enough options to please even the pickiest palate in your family!

Erynn:  Rodizio is a Brazilian steakhouse, with a huge selection of meat and non-meat options personally carved right at your table. Explore their menu, which includes traditional Brazilian salads and sides- and desserts like Torta Brigadeiro or Brazilian caramel flan! If you're celebrating a birthday, you may also hear quite the celebratory song gathered around your table.

Almost everything they offer is made from scratch, and they use the best of fresh, locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible. An extensive coffee menu rounds out the offerings.

Dawn R:  AJ Bombers is a kitschy dine-in joint for burgers and shelled peanuts. It’s just as fun to hang with your friends or bring the kids for a fun family meal. They have won multiple "Best Burger" awards!

Vanessa M.:  Leon's has been dishing up their world famous frozen custard in Milwaukee since 1942! They are open year-round and also serve burgers and hot dogs in addition to their custard cones, sundaes, malts, shakes, and floats. Leon's custard is made fresh daily with fresh cream and eggs in both standard flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and butter pecan) and specialty flavors such as mint, raspberry, or maple walnut.

Shila:  Storied 1950s-themed diner featuring a menu of classic American fare. Miss Katie's has been in business for over 35 years & has been frequented by famous figures in the past such as: Bill & Hillary Clinton, the former cast members of 'Happy Days,' & Michelle Obama with her family.

Vanessa M.:  A Milwaukee landmark since 1950 and now boasting three locations, Kopp's Frozen Custard is not to be missed. Kopp's-lovers know to check the "flavor preview" to see what unique flavors will be offered, from French Silk Pie, German Apple Streusel, or Never Enough Chocolate. Also on the menu are jumbo burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and more. Specialty sundaes are a special treat!

Organ Piper Pizza has been a Milwaukee area landmark for over 40 years. They serve highly rated thin crust pizza along with sandwiches and other delicious foods. Their Theatre Organ is a treat to experience. Organists take requests and can play a variety of songs, from Bach to rock, to the latest Disney tune!
