Trapper’s Rendezvous Bed and Breakfast
Kristy Pepping said: Trapper's Rendezvous Bed and Breakfast is located about an hour from the Grand Canyon and offers a very unique stay. This is a Western-themed bed and breakfast that provides six oversized cabins, so it's perfect for larger families. They can also help you book several Grand Canyon adventures, including a ride on the steam train into the Canyon. Kids will love the cowboy breakfast each morning, and closing out each evening with a campfire.
Williams, AZGrand Canyon Railway Hotel & RV Park
Kristy Pepping said: I highly recommend this hotel as an option for staying in the Grand Canyon with kids. It is about an hour south of the Grand Canyon, but we found it less expensive and better room arrangements for larger families. Plus, they have two on-site restaurants, a pool and workout room. The other nice feature is you can pay for a train ride to and/or from the Grand Canyon. It is located on the hotel property and pulls right into the Grand Canyon.
Williams, AZSeligman, Arizona "Birthplace of Historic Route 66"
Kristy Pepping said: Seligman, Arizona is considered "the birthplace of Route 66." Kids will love seeing the town preserved as it was years ago. Highlights include shopping for cool souvenirs and stopping in for lunch (Roadkill Café is most popular!). The Route 66 Gift Shop & Visitor's Center, too, is the best place to learn more about this area (and to pick up even more road trip and travel toys). Fun fact: In the movie "Cars," Seligman served as the model for the town, Radiator Springs.
Seligman, AZGrand Canyon Skywalk
Add the Skywalk to your Grand Canyon family vacation planning! In 2007, the park opened this 10-foot-wide semi-circle walking path which juts out 70 feet over the canyon. It's transparent all the way around and even under your feet! As long as your kids are not afraid of heights, they will love this thrilling experience of floating above the Grand Canyon (located on the west end).
