Family New Year’s Eve Events Around Chicago

Blue Man Group Chicago invites guests to ring in the New Year with four festive New Year’s Eve performances Sunday, December 31 at 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Families with young children can take advantage of Blue Man Group’s early performances at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. These shows feature early “midnight” countdowns after the show complete with party hats, noisemakers and a special performance of “Auld Lang Syne” by the Blue Men. Other festivities include pre-show face painting where children will be transformed into members of Blue Man Group’s band.

Experience the excitement of New Year's Eve around the world with your family, without leaving Park Ridge or staying up late! Explore cultural traditions, make crafts, and enjoy snacks and drinks inspired by global flavors. Games, music, and entertainment takes place throughout the event. The celebration ends with noise makers, hats, beads, and a traditional New Year’s Eve balloon drop.

10:30am-12pm

Ring in the New Year at the Palos Heights Rec Center! Make your own party hat, dance along to the music, jump in the bounce house, purchase and enjoy pizza, and count down to noon when the balloons will drop!

10am-12pm

Bring the kids to the festivities including games, music, a balloon drop, and sparkling grape juice toast. Each participant receives a glow-stick necklace, party hat, and noisemaker. Pre-registration is required.

11am-12:15pm

The whole family can enjoy a two-hour NYE lake cruise! There will be a live DJ, skyline views and festive holiday decor. Brunch will be served.

11:30am-1:30pm

This family friendly New Year’s celebration will include a balloon drop, full access to the museum, a new year’s art project, encounters with costumed characters, and a fun photo booth to capture the special day as a family, all long before bed time!

10am & 12pm

Activities include a DJ and dancing, a bounce house, games, crafts, and a balloon drop. Light refreshments are served. Fee is per child, adults are free but required to stay at the event.

10:30am-12:30pm

Ring in the New Year early at this Noon Year’s celebration located at the Sports Center. There will be a bounce house, dancing, photo ops, crafts, games and a snack and refreshment for the children followed by a countdown to noon and balloon drop. Pre-registration is required.

Partygoers can bounce in inflatables, play games, participate in interactive entertainment, and dance to music! There will be a countdown and balloon drop at noon. Register early for a discounted rate!

The Haunted Trails NYE package includes $35 in game play, 2 lazer frenzy challenges, a mini pizza and soft drink.

Enjoy music and dancing, ice cream sundaes, a photo booth, balloon drop and more.

6-8pm

Ring in the New Year in a big way with dancing, activities, and a countdown to noon, complete with a balloon drop!

On New Year's Eve, Enchanted Castle offers a buffet dinner, $15 in game play, four hours of unlimited rides, a buffet, balloon drop, toast, video games and party favors. Registration required.

6-10pm

Get the whole family out to cruise aboard a 3-story luxury yacht with a dance floor and full bar including soft drinks for the kids!

1-3:30pm

Xtreme Wheels Roller Skating Center offers daytime and nighttime New Year's Eve parties, so there is fun to be had for all age groups. Both parties feature flashing wands, noisemakers, party hats and a balloon drop with prizes in addition to roller skating!

New Year's Eve at Safari Land includes a balloon drop countdown, prize raffles and a buffet.

5-9pm

Bubble Bash at DuPage Children's Museum is THE place for families to ring in the new year. In addition to special NYE activities, your kiddos will enjoy grooving to the music, exploring the Museum’s hands-on exhibits, and counting down with confetti, bubbles, and more!

9am-1pm

Head to Rosemont with the kids on New Year's Eve to enjoy free ice skating at one of Chicagoland's favorite skating rinks, along with a special fireworks show at midnight! Bring your own skates or rent some there.
