SMPH said: Brilliant performances! The Tolucan Times. Brilliant portrayals! broadwayworld.com. Just plain brilliant! playwright/performer Wendy Michaels. This joyous musical comedy, now in its 6th smash year, is perfect for audiences of all ages, following the life of the famed Yiddish story-teller as he spins tales of loves and losses, fame and failures, travels, travails filled with the tremendous optimism that kept him going against all odds. “Aleichem Sholom” is the perfect way to introduce our young people to, and remind ourselves of, the rich Jewish heritage of the worlds of Sholom Aleichem. “It made me think of the heyday of vaudeville in New York. It’s grounding to see this part of our shared past re-created in sunny Santa Monica, whether or not we actually grew up on tales of shtetl life. These stories of inequity and triumph, love and laughter, family and religion are part of our heritage and identity, and connect us to a part of ourselves.” Jewish Journal

SMPH said: A punderful Musical Comedy for Kids 2 to 102 re-imagined for 2022! A winning blend of vaudeville, English pantomime and music hall. Drama-logue. Join Alice as she accepts an invitation from the Queen of Hearts to return to the Wonderland of her youth. Will Alice prevail, or are the Cards stacked against her? Will the Queen suffer a heart attack? “STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! L.A. PARENT. A splendid children’s theatrical experience with a terrific new twist.” Lovely audience participation throughout the production helps Alice set a topsy-turvy Wonderland aright in this zany musical comedy. Gorgeous costumes by award-winning designer Ashley Hayes and lilting musical numbers enhance the "clever clowning and buoyant silliness" (L.A. Times) of this audience favorite. The internationally acclaimed Family Theatre musical comedy, performed on three continents over the past 45 years is presented by renowned Actors’ Repertory Theatre, celebrating the Playhouse’s 65th anniversary.
