We squeezed in a visit to the Art Institute when we had a couple hours to kill in Chicago. I wasn't expecting my kids (10 and 13) to be thrilled with it, but they were free so it was a relatively affordable risk. I am blown away by how much they ended up loving it! My son, who has learned quite a bit about art in middle school, was so impressed by all of the notable paintings he recognized and says this is the best museum he's ever seen. Both kids were really captivated by our visit, and we could have easily spent a few more hours wandering around. I'd definitely recommend it for tweens and older!
