Take, for example, the Little Red Schoolhouse, a replica of an early Texas schoolhouse that can be toured (arrangements must be made in advance). With a variety of gardens and trails, the East Texas Arboretum is a fantastic way to spend a peaceful day in nature in with the family.

    Sarah D.:  Clark Gardens set out to create a lush oasis in the Texas desert, and they did! This peaceful garden offers 50 acres of garden paradise including winding paths (suitable for strollers), waterfalls, ponds and lakes with swans and other brilliant waterfowl, and a peacock or two strutting about. The Gardens make the adventure a bit more interactive with their helpful butterfly and bird guides as well as children's playhouse and train station! A wonderful way for all to enjoy a day in the gardens!
