Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Adam Sandler plays Dracula as an overprotective dad who has built Hotel Transylvania to keep his daughter hidden away and safe from humans. Dracula opens the hotel to his expansive group of friends, and there is plenty of humor created by the kid-friendly monsters.

The Mitchells vs. The Machines (2021)
It's up to the Mitchell family to stop a robot apocalypse from destroying humanity...however ill-equipped they may seem.
Alexandra F. said: My teen and I loved this movie! It was so clever, colorful and fun, and had us both laughing out loud throughout the whole movie. Definitely great for all ages, but perhaps particularly relevant for older kids and teens, given the familiar relationship challenges between the teen protagonist and her father that are at the heart of the story.

Trolls (2016)
Trolls is a vibrant and musical animated adventure where the overly optimistic Poppy and the grumpy Branch must team up to rescue their friends from the troll-eating Bergens.
Michael Farina said: If you are planning to watch this near bedtime, be sure to leave a little extra time for an impromptu dance party. My 3-yo leads us in a dance every time we watch this flick.

Klaus (2019)
An original backstory about how the legend of Santa came to be, Klaus is the beautifully animated and beautifully told story of an unlikely friendship between a reluctant postman and a reclusive toymaker. It focuses on the spirit of giving rather than magic and elves, and is filled with funny and poignant moments.
Alexandra F. said: All of us really liked this one - even our teenagers! The story was so creative, and it was fun to see a unique take on the origins of many popular Christmas traditions. Lots of laugh out loud moments, too, as well heartwarming ones.

Sing (2016)
Sing is an animated musical comedy about a koala named Buster Moon who tries to save his failing theater by hosting a grand singing competition. The movie follows the colorful contestants as they pursue their dreams of musical stardom.
Kelly R said: Sing (and Sing 2) are some of my family's all-time best movies for family movie night. We watched Sing 2 twice in the same weekend. These totally fun and uplifting movies about ambitious animals with a talent for song have soundtracks that appeal to kids and adults, so you won't mind all of the repeat viewings!

Rudy (1993)
Tim Ponisciak said: This classic from the 90s is a great movie for kids just getting started in sports, as it teaches the value in trying your hardest and never giving up on your dreams, even if you are not the most talented player on your team.

The younger sister of Sherlock Holmes has her own mysteries to solve in this charming and funny family movie on Netflix, perfect for tweens and older kids who are able to keep up with the plot twists and clues.
Alexandra F. said: This is definitely one of the best family movies on Netflix right now! My teens and I loved it - it captured our attention from the moment it started to the very end, and was funny, charming, and so much fun to watch. And, the sequel is even better!

The Willoughbys (2020)
Four siblings, neglected by their parents, hatch a plan to improve their circumstances. Funny, sweet and a little bit dark, The Willoughbys is one of the best family movies on Netflix.
Kelly R said: This fantastic movie took us by surprise, and is absolutely one of the best family movies on Netflix!

The Wild Robot (2024)
Fans of the popular Wild Robot book won't want to miss the movie, now on Netflix! The story is about a shipwrecked robot that washes ashore on a deserted island.

Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical (2022)
Kelly R said: We absolutely loved this Netflix adaptation of the Matilda stage production, about a young girl with a special mind and terrible parents. There's terrific song and dance numbers, the signature Roald Dahl darkness and humor, and a fantastic Emma Thompson as the villainous Miss Trunchbull.

Barbie (2023)
In the seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land, Stereotypical Barbie begins to question her existence, leading her (and Ken) on an unexpected journey of self-discovery in the real world.
Kelly R said: I haven't laughed this much at a movie in years. We went with a group of middle schoolers and parents and had the best time.

13 Going on 30 (2004)
This sweet and funny film about a 13-year-old girl who finds herself fast-forwarded 17 years into the future is a perfect movie for tweens that gives perspective about the things that matter most in life - friendship, kindness, and being true to yourself.
Alexandra F. said: Just watched this again for the first time in a while and was a surprised by how the kids make a few off-hand comments about drinking beer or sexual activity that just weren’t age-appropriate. They were passing references and not a huge part of the movie, but they were also unnecessary and made the movie less awesome than it would have been without them.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023)
More than 20 years after breaking records as the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film of all time, Netflix presents a follow up to the popular Chicken Run. In this sequel, the original cast is joined by the next generation in standing up to the latest threat to chicken-kind.

The LEGO Movie (2014)
Everything is awesome when an unlikely LEGO hero finds himself tasked with saving the word from an evil tyrant.
Kelly R said: This is a great family movie night pick that we have revisited several times. It's genuinely funny for all ages, and packs in a lot of nostalgia for adults who grew up with legos.

Peter Rabbit (2018)
Peter and his rabbit family stake claim to their beloved vegetable garden using tricks and schemes that cause max chaos. Both movies about the mischievous Peter Rabbit make great Easter movies for families to watch together.
