The Office

It's a great light-hearted show to end your evening.

Money Heist

We just finished watching Money Heist. This show is about criminals who are trained by one mastermind, who goes by the name The Professor. The first plan is a heist of the Royal Mint in Spain. After breaking in, they must break back out again with the money in hand. The show follows their journey. English is dubbed over the Spanish actors so it may take an episode to get used to this format.

The Queen's Gambit

We recently started watching this Netflix show. It's a story of an orphan, Beth, who attends a boarding school set in the 1950s. While she is at the boarding school, she learns how to play chess from the janitor. Beth is naturally great at the game. The show follows her life as she grows up and works her way up the chess circuit all way dealing with addiction.

Tile Photo Coasters

This was a project my daughter made in school, but they could easily be Christmas gifts kids can make at home. Plus, it's a great chance to showcase some of the recent photos you have taken. You just need small ceramic tiles, personal photos, Mod Podge and acrylic sealer.

Paving Stone Snowman

Our oldest daughter's class made these as DIY Christmas gifts last year. You'll need a paver stone, white paint, some buttons and fabric remnants. It's a fairly heavy project in the end so it makes a great bookend or even a door stopper for the holiday season.

Christmas Vase

My daughter's school always has the kids make DIY Christmas gifts for parents and last year they made holiday vases. This craft is super simple and all you need is a few items like tissue paper, Mod Podge, scissors, craft glue and some finishing spray. Once their projects are complete, you can present the vases as is, fill with candy or even drop a small candle inside.

Squishmallows

Squishmallows are super popular these days and although they range in size, the small versions are good stocking stuffer ideas for kids. They come in several different animal or even fruit-themed versions.

Purse Mirror

I bought these this year as stocking stuffers for moms in my life. They are super compact purse mirrors. They also have lights on them which make reapplying makeup easy or even opening it up and using it as a flashlight in your purse to find things when in a darkened place like a restaurant.

Moisturizing Gloves

With the amount of hand washing and antibacterial solution we put on our hands these days, I highly recommend these moisturizing gloves. My mom gave these to my sister and me last year and since then I am buying some for stocking stuffers this year. They are gloves that come with a moisturizing solution that you put your hands in and let them soak for a bit. You then remove your hands and they are instantly moisturized again.

Winter Running Gloves

If you live in a cold-weather climate or one where there are changing of seasons, I highly recommend these gloves. I bought these for my husband who is a runner. They come in various sizes and have an anti-slip surface so if the dad in your life either holds a phone or needs to press buttons on something like a fitness tracker, they can easily do so without taking them off.

LOL Surprise Doll

If your elementary-aged child is obsessed with those surprise balls, I highly recommend LOL Dolls. My seven-year-old loves unwrapping these dolls and unlike other surprise balls, she actually plays with the dolls after she opens them. Plus, LOL offers many accessories such as houses and cars for further playing fun.

Balabangles

I just bought these for my aunt as she has been walking the neighborhood a lot. I like these weights because they look nice and fit around wrists easily. That way it leaves your arms free to exercise. The other nice part is they are only a pound each so they don't add too much resistance.

Fried Mashed Potato Balls

You can make Thanksgiving leftover mashed potatoes even more fantastic by turning them into breaded potato balls that kids and adults will both love! If you have leftover Thanksgiving rolls to use up and a food processor, you can even create your own breading. From Delish

Volunteer as a Family

Holidays are about receiving a lot of the time, but we have tried to combat this with our kids by making it one of our family Christmas traditions to volunteer together. There are so many ways to give back whether donating your time wrapping and delivering gifts, serving holiday meals, or even volunteering from home.

Holiday Playlist

Every year, one of our family Christmas traditions is to make a holiday playlist. We all have favorite Christmas albums and songs that we like to compile and play throughout the month of December. It's especially fun for listening while decorating the tree or baking cookies to get everyone into the holiday spirit!

The Lincoln Marsh Natural Area is a fun place to hike, picnic and generally enjoy the outdoors. There are several nature trails to explore and the fun part is there are free scavenger hunt lists located on their site to use and check off as you go. In addition, Lincoln Marsh has a playground on-site to visit before or after your hikes! There are also Nature To Go Kits available for purchase. Parking lot and trailhead locations can be found here.

Make Ahead Stuffing

If you don't use stuffing that goes inside your turkey, you can add it to your list of make ahead Thanksgiving recipes! Because of the raw eggs, plan to freeze it in advance instead of storing in the fridge. The secret to not making it soggy is using thicker bread like a French or Sourdough variety.
