Should kids wear sunscreen to school?

I only do it on the days they have special outdoor activities, such as the annual fun run and field days. On typical days they go out for recess for such a short time and so many hours into the school day that I don't think sunscreen is necessary.

Tips for Relieving Morning Sickness in Pregnancy

I kept sleeves of Ritz and Saltines near me at all times during those early months. Nibbling all day on those throughout the day definitely helped ease the nausea.

What is a good activity for kids who don't like team sports?

My 6 year old loves his running program and I see a fair number of kids who don't love team sports there. They do individual activities, like quick sprints and longer jogs, and the coaches have them work together and build team spirit in other ways.

Potty Training Tips

The three day method worked wonders with my first. I put together a prize bucket of things I knew would motivate him and we stayed home for a weekend. He had one accident in those two days; he wanted those prizes and just got it done. By Monday he was back at day care without diapers.

Do you sneak out or say goodbye to your little kids?

I definitely had to sneak out of the house when my younger one was a small toddler. I never liked it but I also did not find it fair to leave a teenage babysitter with a toddler screaming for his mother. Now I love that I can say goodbye to my son, with lots of hugs and kisses!

Is it your family tradition to visit the Easter Bunny?

I don't seek out a formal picture and visit with the bunny but I do try to find a fun Easter event/hunt for us to attend. If the bunny is there then the kids visit if they feel like it.

Does the leprechaun visit your house?

I don't go overboard but I do a few tricks to make it look like the leprechaun came. No presents for the kids, just a few gold coins.

Have you ever used a child leash?

I didn't but I definitely considered it. My older son, just 2 when my younger one was born, was a runner and for a while it was hard to take the two of them out by myself because I worried he would bolt if he was out of the stroller.

Would you let a preschooler wear whatever they want?

As long as they were dressed appropriately for school and the weather, especially footwear-wise, I didn't put many restrictions on my kids. Once they got to be about 4 neither of my boys would wear pants with buttons anymore. We had some debates when it was picture day or a special occasion for which they needed to be a bit more dressed up than their typical sweatpants and T-shirts look.

What is with boys not liking pants?! My 5 year old wants to wear shorts every day. We live in New England, it's frigid here from November to March, yet he asks every day!

Have you traveled internationally with your kids?

Right?! I cannot even wrap my head around how we would do it with all those logistics. I'm grateful my in-laws aren't pushing us to come visit.

Are you spending less personal time on social media than you used to?

LOVE the Instagram story! I find myself down a dark hole checking those out and making my own some times!

I still spend too much time scrolling newsfeeds across various platforms but I have become more selective on what I share personally.

I agree, Sue. We have so many US locations still to see and we can drive to that international destinations are a low priority at point.

My brother- and sister-in-law live in Australia and I would love to visit them but I cannot fathom doing that trip with the kids just yet. I still hold my breath that we make it through a three hour domestic flight. My kids just aren't ready to be in travel mode for that long.

Do you allow your child to have friends sleepover?

My son is going for his first sleepover tonight. He's pumped, I'm excited and nervous for him. I know tomorrow he's going to be tired and cranky but I hope he has a ton of fun tonight.

Do your kids take a daily vitamin?

My picky eater takes one daily but my older son doesn't because he eats more varies and with less fuss.

Do you take your kids out of school for vacations?

I have taken mine out for a day or so ahead or after a long weekend but I wouldn't do much more than that, though it is tempting. My kids are young enough where they still could have a few sick days a year and I don't want to add on a handful of missed days for vacation on top of that. Plenty of families in my town definitely pull kids out for vacation. My 2nd grader asks all the time when he's going to miss a week for us to go on vacation!

What's the best age for a child's first sleepover?

My 7 year is old is going to his first sleepover in a few weeks. He is pumped! I'm nervous but I know he'll be ok.

When do you take down your Christmas Tree?

By New Year's Day I'm ready to reclaim my house and the tree is too dried out to stay up so I take almost everything down then. I do keep some strings of lights up around the house to maintain some festivity.
