Boston's Public Garden was the first botanical garden in America and is still an ideal spot to take a family stroll and soak in nature. Unusual plants, water features, and Swan Boats offer plenty of outdoor enjoyment. Whimsical bridges cross the small river, a duck pond attracts feathery friends, and nature lovers will appreciate tree labels that denote each variety.

The Greenway is the ultimate outdoor Boston family attraction, with nature experiences, art installations, horticulture, and carousel rides! Take a meandering walk through the greenery, visit a splash pad or natural canal installation, or take the kids for a carousel ride (year round!).

Kids get a chance to explore, climb on, and touch all kinds of trucks at this community fundraiser event. There will even be quiet hours for kids who may not enjoy the bright lights and sirens. An arts and crafts table also hosts creative fun while on-site food trucks let you refuel.

About 100 large trucks, tractors, military, public safety, and construction vehicles are expected to be on display to the general public to explore. In lieu of an entry fee, please bring kids books, tuna and peanut butter (or other non-perishable food items) to donate.

Enjoy an exciting day of exploring emergency vehicles and trucks up close and personal at this Touch-A-Truck event! Kids will love climbing inside and learning about these impressive vehicles while parents can snap photos and enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere.

Along with plenty of trucks (and cars and buses!), this event also includes a mini race track for kiddo-powered cars, art activities, on-site food vendors, and more.

Children of all ages have the opportunity to touch, climb on, and explore over 20 different types of exciting machines and unique vehicles at this annual event. The event will also feature child-friendly activities, including giant slides, interactive games, music, and more!

Kick back with friends for a night of movie magic under the stars! Arrive early to check out the exhibitions, grab drinks and popcorn, and watch the sunset over the Santa Monica mountains.

The community is invited to Hicks Canyon for an outdoor family movie night on the big screen. Bring low-back chairs, blankets, and a picnic, or purchase tasty treats from gourmet food trucks and a snack bar. Guests can arrive early, with food trucks available starting at 6 p.m. Movies begin after sunset, weather permitting.

Street Food Cinema summer event series features cool outdoor movies, tasty food trucks, good music, interactive games, and more every Saturday night. They recommend bringing blankets, pillows, hoodies, games, sunscreen, sunglasses, and snacks. Although there are many food trucks and vendors with delicious food for purchase, outside food and beverages are also permitted, so you may opt to bring your own picnic.

Among the multiple gardens with plants from around the world is the spectacular 3-acre Children's Garden. Highlights include nursery rhyme-themed areas like a dollhouse, bridge, secret tunnel, alphabet garden, and worm bin. Kids will also love the plant maze and dinosaur dig area!

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden features diverse plant collections from around the world, historic structures like the Queen Anne Cottage, and free-roaming peacocks, offering visitors a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Attractions include a stream and bridge, a turtle pond, Meyberg Waterfall, a Tropical Greenhouse, and more! The library also hosts storytimes for kids and other fun events for families.

This expansive property includes botanical gardens, a library and art collections. The gardens have themed areas including a wonderful Children's Garden with interactive sculptures, water features and topiary animals.

Descanso is known for its gorgeous gardens, an Enchanted Railroad, and on-site dining. Young kids will also enjoy their monthly story time, included with admission o rmembership.

UC Riverside Botanic Gardens consist of 40 hilly acres with scenic trails and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy nature. You'll see plenty of pollinators here, including a butterfly garden, plus herbs, a rose garden with over 300 selections, and a turtle pond.

El Dorado Nature Center holds plenty of nature-involved family entertainment events, but their concert series adds new sounds to the nature experience.
