Bring a picnic blanket, snacks, and lounge outside at Alamo Square. This all-ages, fenced in and multi level playground is located in a popular park that directly overlooks views of San Francisco's famous Painted Ladies.

This playground is worth a drive to explore the multilevel heart-themed castle! At the top, two identical tube slides send kids flying back down. There are separate play areas for different ages, multiple types of swings, and a pretty epic spinning merry-go-round that can hold multiple kids. You'll love that this playground is almost fully fenced in.

Naper Settlement is a 19th century outdoor living history museum featuring 12 acres of learning and interactive family-friendly opportunities. Above that, Naper Settlement has a wooden fort-inspired playscape out back that features a trading post, sensory prairie garden, a playground, picnic tables and a seasonal splash pad with water cannons and ground water jets. Naper Settlement is steps away from dining, shopping and the Naperville Riverwalk.

This is an outdoor, zero depth entry wave pool where 10-minute periods of flowing waves (around 3-foot crests) send kids bobbing about on floaters. There is plenty of lounge space on deck, as well as concessions.

Glenview Park District's The Grove is a walkable outdoor history museum. The Urban Ecology Center wants to help get people outside! The three branches provide outdoor science education and nature-based programs and events for kids and families, and lend out nature-based sports equipment like skis, bikes, canoes, garden tools & more.

A little south of the museum campus, overlooking Lake Michigan and a boating harbor, this playground has magnificent skyline views of downtown. You'll find futuristic-looking climbing walls, a roller slide, winding monkey bars, swings and a soft contoured surface. It's a short walk south of the 31st Street Beach (sandy shores/public swim).
